Arbor Hills Nature Preserve

This large park is open from 5am to 11pm. Picnic pavillions can be booked for large parties, the kids can go to the playground, and there is plenty of parking for all to use. Arbor Hills has approximately 2.3 miles of paved recreational trails for walkers, joggers and bikes, natural unpaved trails for pedestrians only and a designated off-road cycling trail (approx. 2 miles). Make sure to check out the views from the observation tower and the Indian Creek.

Heritage Farmstead Museum

This 4 acre museum preserves a way of life during the height of farm prosperity in the early 1900s. The beautiful Victorian home and twelve outbuildings were the hub of a 360-acre farm operated by local resident, Ammie Wilson.

Historic Downtown Plano

With over a dozen historic homes and brick streets with unique shops, you’ll be transplanted back in time. Most of the buildings and properties are designated as historic landmarks.

The Shops at Legacy

Legacy Town Center hosts urban style homes, businesses, retail establishments, hotels, restaurants and open spaces in a community setting. This is a great urban area for hanging out with friends, having a glass of wine, enjoying a dinner outside or shopping.

Plano Balloon Festival

If you’re visiting in September, be sure to check out the Balloon Festival that features 100 hot air balloons, sky divers, fireworks, concerts, food, and so much more over three days.

Interurban Railway Museum

This small museum is located in Haggard Park in the old train station building that was used on the old electric railway that ran between Dallas and Denison from 1908 until 1948, after cars became the primary mode of travel. The City of Plano restored and converted the building into the museum in 1990. You can’t miss the restored train car outside next to the museum.

Old Point Park & Nature Preserve

At 800 acres, this is Plano’s largest park. It extends from Chapparal Road on the North to Parker Road on the South and swings left to right from Spring Creek Parkway out east to Los Rios Boulevard. Come enjoy the outdoors and keep in mind that there are concerts on the Western edge of the preserve in the Amphitehater.

Fairview Farms

What child doesn’t love a pony ride, petting zoo, or games? Take a walk through this farm and see what life on the farm used to be all about. Make sure to stop by the market and take home some delicious farm fresh produce.

The Main Event

Southfork Ranch
